The Lakeshore Foundation’s wheelchair rugby team, The Demolition, returned home from Las Vegas, Nevada, as runner-ups from the United States Wheelchair Rugby Association Western Sectionals.
Lakeshore started out strong with two commanding wins taking down Oscar Mike 49-35 and Grand Rapids 55-30. On day two of the tournament, Ability 360 wore down The Demolition in game three taking the win 54-35. Later in the day, Lakeshore bounced back in a tight game winning against High Five’s Storm 45-41. On day three, Lakeshore came from behind to take down perennial stronghold WASA delivering to them their only loss in the tournament with a score of 52-50. During the awards ceremony, Zion Redington received the MVP for the tournament chosen by the coaches of the eight teams in the tournament.
